Managmen Wordpress and Memberships with Nanacast

Posted on September 17th, 2009 in Uncategorized by admin

WordPress is the big name in online content management systems these days, and with good reason:  the interface is easy to use, can be accessed from anywhere, and allows for the quick production of content.

Another big phenomenon currently sweeping the Internet is the advent of paid memberships to specific websites.  This system allows for the easy access to and dissemination of valuable content and provides not only the benefit of specialized knowledge to the subscribers, but also a handy income source for the producer. The integration of these two models can often be difficult.  You have to deal with plug-ins, member directories, instituting recurring payment structures, and a whole bunch of other hassles.  That’s where the MemberLock plug-in from Nanacast comes into play.

The biggest selling point of Nanacast’s MemberLock is the first feature you’ll notice:  it works directly “out-of-the-box.”  No fiddling with databases, no modifying your painstakingly designed theme, nothing.  The next big selling point is that the MemberLock plug-in works with your Nanacast account to completely automate the recurring payments to your subscribers.

If a subscriber decides to stop paying, then their account in the MemberLock plug-in is automatically disabled.  This level of systems integration means that all you have to worry about is producing new content and just watch the money roll in.  Also, while we’re on the topic of recurring payments, you can set up the payment schedule and structure in whatever manner you choose.  Want to set up free trial membership for customers who buy one of your other products?  Nanacast can do it, and set specific date ranges for that trial as well as special pricing points should those users decide to fully enrol.

Last, but certainly not least, is the use of “teasers” in the MemberLock system.  This system allows you to create little teaser sections of your WordPress posts, like the introductory paragraph, and have them accessible to the public.  Then, if the viewer clicks on the “Read More” link, they will be automatically forwarded to your sales letter (with a section for your registered members to log in, of course).  And what shopping cart system will be powering that sales letter?  Nanacast, of course, because this product is one of the first fully integrated delivery and business automation systems ever created.  Whatever you want to do in e-commerce, odds are Nanacast can handle it.

I’ve uncovered and confirmed a common behavior in individuals who work on the web and I’ve been in contact with for some time and I call this trait the fifty minute effect. I spotted these individuals who focus and work for 50 mins. and then make themselves take a complete 10 minute break and are a significant order of magnitude more productive and generate a significantly better quality of work than individuals who don’t have set working methods.

OK as promised I present you with my list of choice remote working software:

E-Mail

Google Mail won’t cost you a penny. In my experience the search & label (a bit like folders) functions are the best implementation I have encountered. Googlemail can be a little slow on aging PC’s

Phone calls

Skype
continually perplexed me as the service stability was down right horrible, but a big pat on the back for the software tech’s at Skype now as they have really improved the quality of the service. For few dollars a quarter Skype lets me call and conference in any phone and Skype user in the world. The current edition of Skype has an abundance of excellent functions and there are now plenty of of valuable add on applications.

Organising Content

Evernote
has reached more than a million users in no time at all – it lets you to store, organise and annotate any species of digital content up on the Internet. Just go check it out…it’s free.

Invoicing, Time and Expenses capture, Accounting and CRM

You surely know that my desire to work remotely was originally motivated by Quickbooks Online, a small business accounting software web application. But it is shadowed by the free edition of salesorder.com – a lead to cash system that’s as easy to use as a kettle I looked at NetSuite whose pricing (and people) scared me off. My choice here is salesorder.com – Go check it out.
