Off Page SEO Explained

Posted on July 21st, 2009 in Uncategorized by Justin Harrison

SEO or Search Engine Optimization is an extremely important part of any online business. Your websites traffic will dominantly be through the search engines results pages (SERP?s). Using the correct SEO techniques can create a higher ranking for your website and in turn bring you more traffic. More than 80% of all website traffic is from search engine result pages.

There are two types of SEO, On Page and Off Page SEO. While On-Page SEO is important, Off Page SEO uses a more sophisticated technology to obtain your website and high page rank (PR) after your site has gone live.

The main concern of Off Page SEO is your link popularity. Your sites link popularity is shown by a number that represents the amount of backlinks you have associated with your site. You can find sites online that will show you your current link popularity. The higher the (PR) page rank number the higher your popularity is. You build link popularity by incorporating more backlinks to your website. This is not an easy task. Google does not like reciprocal links where you trade links with another site. You will be expected to obtain unilateral or one way links to your website.

Using 100% original, unique and highly informative content is one of the better ways to increase popularity. You are far more likely to have other websites willing to link to your site if it is useful and unique information.

There are many other techniques to build link popularity. If you are unable to create the type of content needed to attract other websites and not enough time to constantly keep it fresh and new then you can use some of the methods listed below.

Article Marketing: There are thousands of article directories on the internet that will allow you to submit your articles to. For every article submitted you will have a resource box to use for introducing yourself and placing a link to your site. There are some directory sites that have a very high page rank (PR) and if you have an article accepted there it increases your page rank as well. You will find article directories that will submit your articles to more than 200 directories at one time for around $25.

Forum Marketing: There are online forums that are dedicated to specific topics. Seek one out that is closely related to your websites topic and start posting. The signature box you are given will be in every post so be sure to include your website link in there. This will create a page linking back to your site for every post you make.

Advertise on Craigslist: This site has a PR7 score and this is extremely high. Being able to create an ad with your link on this site will increase your sites popularity quickly. It does not matter who if anyone reads the ad, just place it and don?t forget to include your website link. You can find two or more webmasters and create triangular links.

This method will bypass the issue Google has with reciprocal links and give you some backlinks your site needs. You can also look for partners that are willing to link to your site.

Search engine incomes are directly related to the number of relevant results they present to their users. The number one goal of every search engine is to attract users and increase loyalty and this can only be done by delivering what the searchers are looking for in a relevant and timely fashion. The more frequently users return to the search engine the more opportunity and income the search engines create. So how do you do this?. You have two choices but there is nothing to stop you doing both if you have money and time. You can work hard to produce very good content and publish it on your web pages or you can advertise using methods such as Pay Per Click or Google Adwords.

From a search engines perspective there are only keywords and key phrases without these content on the Internet simply doesn’t exist. Keywords tell the search engines what the user is looking for. The search engine scans its index of web pages and returns the web pages it has decided are most relevant to the keyword or key phrase. All search engines determine what will be returned in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) by using two measures authority and relevance.

Authority is determined in the main by search engines view of how many back links a web page has and relevance is related to the presence of keywords in the content of the web page(s). The search engines determine the order in which web pages are indexed on the results pages by the number of back links to the page and their respective authority.

Back links are critical to the quality of the search engines perception of your web pages.

Back links not only determine your position in the SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages) but are a major source of visitor traffic. Browsers who discover and click on back links containing keywords associated with their interests will be directed to your web pages. The technical term for text associated with a back link is “anchor text” and this play a role in the value attributed to every back link discovered by the search engines. Whilst all back links are of value some are more valuable than others.

Back links from web pages that contain content related to your web page have an impact on the authority of your web page. The higher the authority of the linking pages, the higher is the authority passed to your pages.

PLR versus MRR

Posted on July 21st, 2009 in Uncategorized by Wendy Wood

As an internet marketer you’ll probably be looking for quick ways to provide information to the customer or potential customer as quickly as you can. What you’re going to have to decide though, is whether you want to buy content that is PLR or MRR. You have to understand why these two are so different so that you can make an informed choice as to which one to use in your business.

Your choice will come down to why you need the content. For example, if you want to sell a digital product which can then be on-sold by your customers, master resell rights content is your best choice.

MRR though, will normally not give you the option to alter the content. If you wish to make changes that personalize the content to your business or even add your own links, then you would definitely want to go with PLR content.

The biggest difference with the way that PLR and MRR files are delivered is the fact that PLR has a file that can be edited such as a .doc. the PLR eBooks can also be split up into different articles, and articles can be put together to form an eBook if you so desire.

Master Resell Rights content sometimes allows you to put your own name on it as author but beyond that is restrictive. The price you can sell the eBook for is limited by the license which specifies the lowest and highest prices you can charge for the product.

As far as making the choice between PLR and MRR, you need to evaluate what you are going to use it for. If your plan is to hand out an eBook for purposes of viral marketing, then you should really go with PLR because MRR doesn’t really allow for that sort of thing.

But, if the MRR license permits you to utilize the content freely, then it’s a great way to promote your business.

Regardless, if you wish to be able to use your content freely then you should definitely go with PLR. PLR is also cheaper than MMR in most cases, and gives a quick way to assemble some eBooks. Even though you’re not the actual author, you can say that you are, and use it however you want. Not a bad bargain if I may say so.

No Excuse For Movie Downloads

Posted on July 21st, 2009 in Uncategorized by Joel Martin

Everybody knows that movie downloads are illegal, and yet very few people seem to care. They are easy to find and use, and often you don’t feel as though you’re doing anything wrong. Because there’s so little involved, whether you’re downloading for a party or to entertain yourself late at night, it’s easy to excuse this sort of behavior for yourself.

Don’t panic and think you’re doing anything illegal just because you watch videos on YouTube. This is a far different process, because the owners of the videos post them up willingly for you to watch.

However, the companies who make major films have no say when their movies are stolen to be published on other websites, making them lose out on their profits.

Many people make excuses that watching illegally downloaded movies isn’t harming anyone. Sometimes they even convince themselves that while the downloaders might get in trouble, they are safe themselves. However, this is a dangerously incorrect way to think. The Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) seriously condemns this practice and tags movie downloaders as “a movie thief whose crimes carry serious legal consequences.”

Again, these movies are stolen goods. A lot of people put hard work into making them, and by illegally getting your hands on these films, you’re taking something away from them. You know you wouldn’t walk up to somebody who was offering stolen goods in the real world, and so you shouldn’t in the virtual world, either. However tempting it might be, you must hold off for your own sake.

No matter how much emphasis there might be on those stories where somebody is caught doing illegal downloading, and no matter how scary the fines and even prison time they might have had to face could be, the fact is people who get caught are few and far between.

Rather discouraging, however, it has done little to raise the concerns of most people, who continue to do what they want.

Unfortunately, there is a common thought process for many people wherein their only concern is their own risk. Because they probably aren’t going to get caught, they don’t feel as though there’s any reason for them to stop what they’re doing. It’s a rationalization process that keeps them from having to consider the actual consequences of their actions.

You really need to take a look at the morality of what you’re doing. While it’s easy to ignore that somebody is directly affected by everyone who downloads a movie as opposed to buying it, this doesn’t change the fact that it is true.

You put them in a very bad position, and should feel guilty about what you’re doing. It’s a hard habit to give up, but it’s just the not the right thing to do.

There are all sorts of people involved in the movie industry. Some of them make a lot of money, but many of them don’t. It’s easy not to feel bad about high-paid actors losing money, but what about the extras and other workers? Tell everybody you know to stop downloading movies illegally. They may not like the idea, but in the end, they’ll feel better about themselves.
